First Look: TTT Trinidad
November 1999
More than a year after discontinuing the Fuente-made TTT Trinidad cigars, the company has
released a new line of cigars worthy of the Trinidad name. The new line is available
in five sizes with retail prices between $175 and $248 for a 25-cigar box.
Working with Lugo Gomez, the last Trinidad tobacco buyer from Cuba, the company
recreated the old Trinidad cigar blend from Cuba. The new cigars are made in Miami,
Florida by expert Cuban rollers, each with over 40 years of experience.
The blend for the new line is a delicate balance of Cuban-seed Dominican, Nicaraguan
and Honduran tobaccos. The binder is Piloto Cubano Dominican and the wrapper is a
rare, four-year-old Cameroon seed tobacco grown is Sumatra.

Initial production is limited. The cigars are in stores now. The
company is offering 5 cigar sample packs for $25 to $42 plus shipping and include an
unconditional guarantee. If not satisfied, the unused cigars can be returned for a

Trinidad Tobacco Trading Corp. is based in Miami, Florida. The Trinidad family began
making cigars in Cuba in 1905. The company currently offers two cigar lines: TTT Trinidad
and Trinidad Y Hermano. TTT Trinidad are made in Miami, Florida by
Tabacalera Las Villas. Trinidad y Hermano is manufactured by
renowned cigar maker, Pedro Martin of Tropical Tobacco in Miami and received a Four-Star
rating from Cigar Weekly Magazine.
