This Quintero is the Honduran version of its Cuban namesake, a small, but distinctive
Cuban brand. This hand-made cigar traces its history back to the tobacco farmer or
"quinteros" who specially selected the tobaccos for the blend.
Commenting on Tabacalera's first new introduction since entering the U.S. market, Benji
Menendez, the company's master blender and Director of Caribbean and Central American
operations, said, "Both Quintero and VegaFina are being brought to market just at the
time people are again looking for truly great cigars at exceptionally reasonable retail
prices. These new brands will satisfy a range of tastes, as well as pocketbooks - from the
mild, smooth taste of VegaFina, to the full-bodied, robust Cuban-style flavor of
Quintero."
