Cigar Weekly
The Internet Cigar Magazine Since 1997

Tech Support

Currently the Cigar Weekly site is running on several systems while we are converting it from the old system running on a shared Windows based server to our beefy new Linux server. On occasion aspects of the site may be broken or mysteriously disappear. I'll try to keep an updated list of these issues on this page. Should you notice any problems not listed below or need help with your Forums account please send e-mail to webmaster@cigarweekly.com.

Forum Account Problem?

On March 3, 2004 we initiated a policy whereby all accounts must have a valid email address associated with them. If we start receiving bounce notices due to undeliverable email from the server to your account (i.e. for PM notifications, etc) your account will be deactivated. Send email to webmaster@cigarweekly.com from a working email address to have your account reinstated. Be sure to mention your username in the email so we know which account to reacivate.

Current Known Issues

  • Gigante Links is working, but there's no way (yet) to add new links.
  • The cigar database is severely broken and out of date. This should be fixed soon. I have finished coding up the new database interface and we are working on bringing some of the information up to date and beta testing the interface. At the moment it does not include reviews or ratings - those are in the works. You can help us test the new CDB at http://www2.cigarweekly.com/cdb/.
  • For some reason AOL and Yahoo (and others) tend to intercept some of the email sent from the BBS software as spam. If you have done some action that would send you email (changed your password, registered for an account, etc) please check your spam folder to see if it got intercepted. It is also a good idea to add cigarweekly.com to your whitelist. We do not send spam, so that should be safe.
